IN MEMORIAM

Douglas W. Schroeder

Dear OCTLA Members,

We are very sad to announce the sudden passing of our good friend and colleague Doug Schroeder this past week. Doug was a member of OCTLA for 17 years and faithfully served the organization on our board and executive committee from 2003 – 2013 and was our esteemed president in 2012.  The motto he set for his presidential term was “Here to Help” a phrase that embodied Doug’s character.

Doug was a nationally respected trial attorney who specialized in aviation law, personal injury, wrongful death, product liability and insurance disputes and he prosecuted complex civil litigation in state and federal courts across the country.

Doug was not only a successful trial attorney; he was a strong leader, a good friend and a devoted and loving husband and father.  He is remembered by many as kind-hearted, caring, loving, funny, giving, intellectual, dedicated, a man of strong faith, a great teacher, dedicated mentor and a true friend.

The memorial service to honor the life and memory of Douglas Schroeder has been set for Thursday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church 190 S. Fairmont Blvd. Anaheim, 92808.Reception on the church grounds immediately following the service.

Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced soon. Since Doug's solo law practice was the primary source of income for the family and he also handled the family's finances and record keeping, the family has no access to any accounts to handle funeral and immediate incidental expenses Therefore, a Go Fund Me page has been established to help Hannah and the girls during this transitional period. https://www.gofundme.com/help-douglas-schroeders-beautiful Doug's motto was "HERE TO HELP" so hopefully, if you are able to do so, they can really use some help right now. I will continue to update you as information becomes available.
